Quick cach-up and a question

Well, I've been cut off from blogging for several days now thanks to a really moody internet connection at home. TIP: Do NOT ever take a Tata Indicom broadband connection because their service, quite simply put, just plain sucks. They will tell you faults are corrected within 6 hours but this is a lie and there is a good chance it will take more like 6 days. I even gave up on registering complaints at the (hell)p center because I mean, after all, what can the poor customer service execs do if the fault is purely technical?
First off, thanks guys for commenting on my posts - it's always nice to login after a while and find lots of comments waiting to make me smile! You guys rock my world, seriously. And I'm sorry I haven't been reading your blogs because of the internet issue of course but I promise to catch up soon.
Anyways, I started a new job yesterday after a long hiatus of staying at home and though I am happy, I'm in a bit of confusion over whether I did the right thing. See, this job is great but it doesn't pay as well as another job which I could have joined later in September. But that higher-paying one was pretty stressful (I know coz I have held the same job before too) and it required me to work from home where as I've been wanting to get out of the house a bit for a change of scene. Also, this job that I just seized without pondering much leaves me more time to focus on my writing simultaneously. So I think it's worth it, even if the remuneration is a bit less. Money is important, but it's not everything right? What do you think? Plus, it's a short term thing - just for six months - yet I feel guilty for letting go of something that would have made my parents happier and made me worry less about monetary issues.
But, in the words of Shakespeare, "what's done is done," so I'm looking forward to this new experience and I hope I can learn new things and meet new people.

More interesting, proper post coming up soon but if you happen to read this, do leave a comment addressing the question I asked about money being important but not everything.

So long!

well whats done is done.. so i dont see the need to answer that question abt money.. all i can say is all da best for ur new job .. :):)

Well, money isn't everything but even if u leave that factor aside..working from home itself would have been too stressful and annoying at times. So even if the new job pays you less, you'll enjoy your work more and will be able to take out time for other things too which is an added advantage. So, go ahead and make most of whatever this new job has to offer.Gud luck :)

Yeah, continue with this one, most jobs require you to be at work for like 8 hours (minus lunch) and then another hour in commuting would be 10 hours. and if this job leaves you enough time to do what you want, you are plain ol' lucky :)

all the Best :) (note the capital B)

Vaudeville of exhilaration

Just believe and have faith on your decision, then even if it were not the right decision,it'll turn out to be one..Enjoy your new job and this obviously is a right decision.. :)

First things first...Airtel zindabad. With Airtel problems occur very very rarely n when sum shit does happen...it always gets fixed quickly.

2nd things 2nd...I do not work for Airtel n neither does my papa, chacha, mama, tauji etc so my opinion isnt biased.

3rd things 3rd...abt money thing...after reading ur blog I think u r smart enough to know what's right for u. In my opinion, money isn't everything...u only need enough to survive. If money was everything then hollywood celebs would be d HAPPIEST people on earth. get my point? I'm sure u do.

I think it was Bill Gates who said that Money is not important, it cannot buy happiness and cannot do anything good...he added...make sure you have plenty of money before making such silly remarks.

I think he is right. :P

MangoManBunty

Hadd hai! Comment bhi aapki pasand ka karun?? (money and all..)

I'll write what I feel like. \m/

And I feel money is shit. :D

Coming from an about-to-be MBA, it might seem a tad hypocritical but the mad rush here gave me a perspective one can never get outside the gates of a b-school.

You did the raaiit thing!! There's no point running after pay and perks or pleasing others who are close to you. When you do something you feel like doing (though I'm yet to discover my calling :|), you're contented and so are the ones close to you in the long run!

Bahot lamba ho gaya! What do you expect from someone who is practically out of blogosphere for alck of ideas!!

Mehak

@ Anonymous Someone, thanks, that helps. :P :P
wow, thanks MangoManBunty, that was strangely motivating! :D
